Susan Lee Roberts
Montesano, Washington
Biography
A haiku student for six years, Susan was introduced to haiga. Within a few days the universe led her to write a haiku and that night insisted she look through her art for something that would befit the poem. One picture matched it perfectly. It looked like she had painted it for the poem. She was hooked. Bringing together images with haiku tickles her inner child. Locally, Susan has organized two haiku trails, taught several haiku classes and published two flute chapbooks (her spouse is a flutist & flutemaker so--surprise!--many flute haiku appear on her pages).
Susan’s haiga have appeared in Contemporary Haibun Online, Daily Haiga, and Scarlet Dragonfly Journal. Her haiku have been published in numerous journals including The Heron’s Nest, Frogpond, and Modern Haiku. Her haibun—prose with an image—have also been published. She resides in Montesano, Washington.
