Dinner Under the Stars will be held on August 7, 2021, on Whitewoman Street in front of the museum. Diners plan their dinner—table decorations and meal—and then eat together outside amidst luminaries and twinkling lights. Serving as the museum's rendition of the Met Gala, extravagance and exaggeration are encouraged. Creativity and elegance are the staple for this event sponsored by the Friends of the Museum.
Get a group of friends together for a night of fun! Create a theme for your table and dress accordingly. Participants are asked to bring their own culinary creations as well as table decorations and service. The museum will provide tables, chairs, sparklers and a radiant atmosphere. Wine and beer will be sold by the bottle, and there will be a special JHM birthday cocktail available as well.
At 6:15 on the evening of the event, the table hosts may set up their tables. At 7:00, the fete formally begins with a toast to the museum and to the splendid Dinner Under the Stars. We’ll have a unified igniting of sparklers to end the gala, bidding each other good night. Creativity is encouraged with prizes awarded to the most elegant and the most creative tables.
A variety of table sizes will be available. Tickets for the event are $12 per person and $10 for Friends members. The deadline for payments is July 30th. Diners are encouraged to pre-purchase their wine and beer to ensure the right pairing for their menus.
