"Unearthing Ohio’s Coal Mining Legacy" with Sam Bennett

Join host Sam Bennett on October 10th at 6:00 PM in this engaging Q&A-style program as he delves into the rich and rugged history of coal mining in Ohio and Coshocton County. A former miner, Bennett is dedicated to keeping the history of coal mining alive and well; in 2013 he began raising money for the Coal Miners Memorial that is now located on the Court House Square in Coshocton. Attendees are encouraged to bring coal mining stories and items of their own to share, from their own experience with coal, family stories, and more. Whether you’re a history buff or just curious, this session offers an insightful look into one of Ohio’s most pivotal industries.
Admission to this program is free thanks to the support of the Ohio Arts Council, which helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. |
