“Johnny Appleseed and Early Ohio Cider Culture” with Dr. William Kerrigan
October 11th @ 6:00 PM

Just when you think you know everything there is to know about Johnny Appleseed! Join us as Dr. William Kerrigan, Professor of American History at Muskingum University, shares information from his book, Johnny Appleseed and the American Orchard: A Cultural History. Dr. Kerrigan carefully dissects the oral tradition of the Appleseed myth and draws upon material from archives and local historical societies across New England and the Midwest to give us a new way of looking at John Chapman’s life and the environmental and cultural significance of the plant he propagated. Admission to this program is free thanks to the support of the Coshocton Foundation.
