Christine Sycks
Warsaw, Ohio
Biography
Christine Sycks is a native of Coshocton County, and has been drawn to the arts since she was a child. Her parents are the late Christopher and Sara (Kanuckle) Neace and she is a long-time active member of the First Baptist Church of Coshocton. In 2023, Chris retired from a 35-year career in public service, the last 11 years of which were as an elected official. Since retiring, she has been spending most of her time doing what she loves – spending time with family and friends, volunteering with her church and in the community, traveling (she just put trip #26 in the books), dedicating much more time and outlets to her creative side, and checking items off her bucket list. (This checked off “A museum display of my artwork”, but this item was also added only after this exhibit was announced.) Chris is the mother of two adult children, Joel and Kimberly, has one grandchild, Andrew, and is blessed beyond measure. "Thank you to JHM for displaying my work."
Artist's Statement
NEON
"This reminds me of the many road trips my family took when I was a child. I'd be in the backseat of our station wagon, and my mother would tell me to look out the window at all the pretty city lights when I asked, 'Are we there yet?'"
CANOPY
"I love driving Coshocton County's back roads in the fall. This photo shows a golden canopy that will soon add color to the gravel road."
