We are excited to announce a dye class for adults led by professional quilter Carolyn Mann on August 5th starting at 6:00 P.M. Carolyn Mann dyes her own fabric for her art quilts, like the example on the graphic. She will teach you the history behind indigo dye and teach you dyeing techniques.
The class will run until around 8:30 P.M. The cost for this class is $25, which includes a t-shirt, fat quarters to make your own samples, and the dye. This program is sponsored by the Ohio Arts Council.
Carolyn Mann is from Brinkhaven, Ohio. She has been sewing and quilting most of her life. Clothing construction, home dec, and traditional quilting led to a time of art quilting now. The pieces she creates are an outlet for her creative side and make her happy. When she creates for others she tries to make something that will either preserve memories or be a new thing to cherish. She has wall hangings and altar cloths in churches and public spaces in many states. She currently has a piece on display at JHM in the Pushing the Surface contemporary art quilt show.
