Group Tours

Children's Programs

Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum offers a range of tours, adaptable to the age levels, needs and interests of the group. Groups may choose a whole museum tour or focus on a particular gallery. Most tours are set up for 60 to 90 minutes. Cost: $1.00 per student.

"More Than a Museum Tour" expands the regular tour to include hands-on experiences. Optional activities include participating in a hypothetical dig of an Indian site, dramatizing an Adena Indian chief's burial day, comparing folk tales from three cultures then writing your own, following Ohio history by placing real artifacts along a timeline, or making a block print as Japanese woodblock prints are viewed. Time allowance is 2 - 2.5 hours. Cost is $2.00 per student.

Off-Site Programs:

Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum offers four in-school programs for the classroom or small group setting. Guides bring 15-20 artifacts for viewing.

  • Chinese & Japanese Culture and Art
  • Ohio History: Pre-historic Indians to Pioneers

Program lasts 30-40 min. $25 for first program; $15 for each consecutive, additional program. Travel fee for schools outside Coshocton County.
