Sing it, Play it, Dance it

When: July 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
Time: 11:00-12:00 P.M.
Cost: $3.00/session

Sing it, Play it, Dance it is all about experimentation with melodies. Each week we will make music with uncommon objects and construct a simple instrument. Song, movement and improvisation will be woven throughout. The goal is to learn about music—rhythm, tempo, dynamics and melody—while playing with sound. Samantha Servais and Patti Malenke will be conducting the program. The cost for each session is $3 or $2 for those with Friends Family Memberships. This program is for children ages 5-9. Reservations are required by phone, email (jhmuseum@jh,useum.org) or in person.

The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this event with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.

Preschool Class: Imagination Journeys

 Imagination Journeys

When: Tuesdays in June
Time: 10:00-10:40 A.M.
Cost: Free

It's summer time, a time for traveling and playing. Children ages 2 – 8 years are invited to take Imagination Journeys at the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum on Tuesday mornings in June from 10:00 to 10:40.  Each week children will travel to a new place or a new time with the help of artifacts, books, songs and crafts. Their journey will begin by literally walking through a curtain to a new experience. Our first two destinations are the Silk Road in China and the ocean floor.

Youngsters will be divided into two groups according to age so that the program can be adapted to fit the appropriate age level. After the program, parents and children are welcome to explore the museum on their own for the remaining hour. Imagination Journeys is free, thanks to the support of the Coshocton Kiwanis Foundation. For more information or to say you're coming (Reservations are appreciated.), contact the museum at 740-622-8710 or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
