Volunteers are essential in all aspects of JHM's work. If you are thinking of volunteering, please give us a call so we can match your strengths and wishes with our needs. These are a few areas where we need regular or periodic assistance. Please do not feel limited by them. You may have other skills that would help us expand our educational programs or enhance exhibits.
Front Desk Workers visitors, take admission money, assist in the gift shop and perform general office duties.
Collections Assistants work with the staff to clean artifacts, inventory collections, and take photographs. If you possess expertise in an area that matches one of our collections, we may ask you to assess the collection for our records.
Program Educators choose to guide tours, prepare and/or present programs, or assist with related activities. Arrangements will be made on an individual basis considering your special interests.
Computer Operators may be asked to assist with priority projects or routine updates to collection information. If computer work is your main interest, we'll put you to work immediately.
Artists are needed for special projects or set up a class or two in an area that you enjoy.
