Crafternoons at the MuseumGet ready for Crafternoons at the Museum! In honor of our America 250 exhibit, Through Their Hands: People and Treasures of Early Coshocton, JH Museum is hosting a series of handcrafting workshops this fall. Beginning in September, Barbara Unger-Lengen will lead a class on 2D felting, aka “wool painting.”
Barbara Unger-Lengen is a fiber artist who started wool rug hooking with the Buckeye Rug Hooking Guild in 2023. She focuses on dry and semi-wet felting in both 2 and 3D. She is a thoughtful teacher and encourages her students to learn the basics but add their own personality into the work. The class will include a kit with all the supplies needed to complete a framed 8” piece that can hang on a wall or a small easel. Participants will be working with a sharp barbed needle and a pattern to felt roving wool into the pattern. Band-aids will be provided, but rarely needed. Bring your creativity and willingness to learn to the class! The 2D felting class will take place on September 23, 2026 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, will cost $25 per person, and is beginner friendly. Participants must register using the button below. A different class on slow stitching with Holli Rainwater will take place on October 21, 2026, and a crochet class with Jenn Bush, Abigail Callis, and Amanda Fehrenbach will be held on November 11, 2026.
