JHM
Autumn Gala and Auction
October 26, 2006
The
JHM
Autumn Gala and Auction
is on the horizon. This event is the
Friends Board’s
primary fundraising event. It’s a win-win event—Support the
museum while having an entertaining and fun time with others.
This year’s art work will be more expansive than in previous
years. Many of the pieces from our coming exhibit,
Past, Present, Perfect,
will be included in the auction. These pieces were created to
reflect artifacts from our collection so they will be
particularly interesting and appealing. We also have some works
by Coshocton notables Benton Clark and Benjamin Blackson.
Besides the live auction, an extensive silent auction will offer
more artwork plus gift packages and special services. The primo
gift item last year was the Ultimate Dinner Party for eight.
Chef Bud Moore and Jeanne Keenan prepared the gourmet meal while
Dan Barnes entertained the party on piano. An Ultimate Dinner
Party is on the block this year as well. Around 200 items will
be auctioned. There will be, without a doubt, something for
everyone!
The Museum doors open at
6:00 for a social hour that includes scrumptious hors d’oeuvres
and fine wine, compliments of Rainbow Hills Winery. This is
also the time to preview the artwork and bid on the silent
auction items. Bidding auction begins at 7:00; silent auction
bidding ends at 8:00.
Don’t miss this
opportunity to support the Museum’s educational programs while
enjoying a unique experience. You may find just the right item
to add beauty to your home or to give as a gift. At the very
least, there’s sure to be a special gift or service with which
you can treat yourself in the Silent Auction. To purchase
tickets ($15), call the museum at 622-8710.

You will soon be
receiving renewal letters from the Friends of the Museum Board.
The Museum is dependent on folks like you to keep the doors
open, the HVAC system cranking and the activities staffed (And
that’s just part of our operating costs.) We’re doing
everything we can to keep our expenses down—annual budget is
only around $150,000. JHM is
your local
resource for arts and culture. Please give us your generous
support.

Helmets off to
Lisa Martin who is shown standing next to the plywood Samurai
she painted for use in Museum programs. Its next appearance is
at Apple Butter Stirrin’. Bring your cameras and grimace.
